Jocelyn Ly
MUSICAL THEATRE
Having started dance at the age of 2, Jocelyn Ly (she/her) is a dancer and performer with provincial and international competitive experience.
She started training in the Richmond Academy of Dance at the age of 7, and has been incredibly privileged to train under the prestigious faculty involved in both the classical and commercial professional divisions.
Jocelyn has been the winner of various scholarships and top awards in musical theatre, voice, ballet, jazz, lyrical and contemporary. In 2025, her experience culminated in a direct invitation to World Performers Canada, where she competed in Jazz at the Dance World Cup in Spain and was privileged to learn from industry professionals such as Abby Lee Miller, Jan Ravnik and Dane Bates. In addition to her dance experience, Jocelyn was honoured to have won the title of “BC Performing Arts’ Junior Vocal Variety Winner” in 2022, where she was invited to perform at Canada West. Outside of dance, she has also been a part of Showstoppers, a glee-inspired show choir group that has been involved in performing in mainstream community events including the Canucks, FOREIGNER, and Global TV’s Christmas Wish Breakfast. While pursuing a Bachelor's degree at UBC, Jocelyn stays involved in the dance community by choreographing contemporary ballet and neoclassical pieces for past and present company members.
Jocelyn returns to Richmond Academy as an instructor – hoping to share her versatility and experience as a dancer to mentor, guide and support the next generation of young dancers.
