SUMMER INTENSIVE 2010 | AUGUST 3 - 20

ANNOUNCING TWO AMAZING INTENSIVES AND SPECIAL GUEST ARTIST MS. SUSAN TOUMINE - SENIOR PROFESSIONAL DIVISION BALLET

The Professional Intermediate and Advanced programs offer the Lower Mainland’s most unique training where you can train intensively in classical ballet, pointe, repertoire and modern in the mornings followed by a musical theatre intensive including dance, acting for stage and screen, as well as voice in the afternoons. By the end of the 3 weeks, your progress will be fabulous and parents, you’re invited to watch on the last day of summer session. Last year these 2 intensives were hugely successful and we look forwards to our 4th summer of these side by side programs!

For the Senior Professional Ballet Program, we are absolutely thrilled to announce that Ms. Susan Toumine will be our own special guest pedagogue! Regarded as one of North America’s finest teachers, Ms. Toumine will be conducting the Advanced Classical Intensive. British born Susan Toumine has been living in Montreal since 1969. She trained at the Classical Ballet School in Ottawa; the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, National Ballet as well as in New York, USA, London, England and Cannes, France. During her professional career she danced for Nesta Toumine (Ballet Imperial), Rosella Hightower in France, Anton Dolin with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and in France, Alexander Danilova in New York and as a soloist with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.

She was ballet mistress and repetiteur for Le Jeune Ballet du Quebec, Ottawa Ballet, and Nice Ballet Theatre (France). Susan is now a freelance teacher and adjudicator in Europe and North America and was on the faculty of The Banff Center (24 yrs.) and Ecole Superieure de la Danse du Quebec (16 yrs.). She has just set a ballet for the Ballet Kelowna which will be performed this spring. Susan is also a fully certified Stott Pilates instructor in Montreal. We welcome Ms. Toumine sharing her knowledge and experience.

The carefully developed Musical Theatre Intensive will train you in the performing arts with Vancouver's finest working professionals and provide the true essence of the "triple threat."

Participants take daily classes in voice, acting and dance culminating in a fully staged and conducted showcase.

In past years we have performed excerpts from "Into the Woods", "Seussical"," Avenue Q" and most recently "A Chorus Line."

We are proud to have the expertise of Suzanne Ouellette, Sheila Christie, and Denis Simpson (along with other special guests) for our 7th Annual Musical Theatre Intensive!
